In the 66th minute of the match, Khedira attempted to stop Pirlo, crashing into him and injuring his left knee.<br />
<br />
Khedira, in obvious pain, attempted to play on but after a cross he was overcome with pain and was helped off the pitch by Borussia Dortmund’s Sven Bender and several members of the Germany technical staff.<br />
<br />
The German international was taken immediately to a Milan hospital to undergo further tests to determine the extent of the injury.<br />
<br />
No further information on the injury but early reports suggest that it may be a cruciate ligament tear, which would put his season to an end and jeopardise his place with the Germans for the 2014 World Cup.

Whilst waiting for the terms of a possible move for Kaká back to Milan from Madrid to be thrashed out, the Italian club is eyeing up another Real player, Sami Khedira.
