It is royal blue and the Whites will play in it for the first time on Saturday in Gothenburg in the friendly against PSG

Real Madrid and Adidas unveiled the away kit that the Whites will wear during the 2013/14 season today in the Directors’ Box at Santiago Bernabeu stadium, and they will play in it for the first time on Saturday 27th July in the friendly against PSG in Gothenburg. Benzema, Ozil and Morata were the players who unveiled to the world the new royal blue kit, which looks retro at first glance and has white accents and orange lines on the sides that tie it in with the first choice kit. "It feels nice. It includes elements of past kits and it is an honour to play in the same colour as legends of this club. Adidas have done a great job", said the German midfielder.

The very first thing that the three Whites’ players said was to pass on their condolences to those affected by yesterday’s train accident in Santiago de Compostela. "I'm sorry for everyone affected and I send my support to the families and the victims", said Benzema. "The entire dressing room, the staff and the club are with the families and I hope everything gets better. I hope they have courage and strength", added Morata. "I want to pass on condolences on behalf of the squad. We are with you", said Ozil.

When asked about the shirt that they unveiled today, all three were very positive. Benzema was the first to speak: "I like the blue colour, which is like that the France kit, and it looks old at first glance. We'll do well playing in it". Morata and Ozil were of the same opinion. "It feels nice. It includes elements of past kits and it is an honour to play in the same colour as legends of this club. Adidas have done a great job", said the first. "It is original and beautiful", said the ex-academy player.

The three had words of praise for Ancelotti and his methods after more than a week of training. "He has been very close with us and has passed on what he wants from the team. We’re thankful that a coach is so close to his players and we’re trying to improve our fitness to be at our best when the season starts. He has asked us younger players to work even more than the others and wants us to be united because that’s how we’ll achieve a lot of things; together", said Morata. Ozil was even more unequivocal: "Everything feels very positive with Ancelotti. He is a coach who knows what he wants. I like how we are training with him and we are very happy. He has a very clear idea of how he wants the team to play and we're going to adapt very well. I'm sure we'll have success with him. We will do everything in our power to put into practice this new system and win titles together".

Benzema also praised the Italian coach and his compatriot Zidane: "It is good for Real Madrid to have a coach like him. He is an excellent coach who comes with a lot of history. Zidane gets along with everyone. He had a great career as a player and gives good advice to everyone. He won everything here and is an example to follow". About his personal situation in the team, the Frenchman was clear: "I feel good and now, in preseason, and we have to work to be able win everything. I want to prepare myself well for this new season. The important thing is to be ready for when it starts".

Morata acknowledged the support of his teammates: "They have always welcomed me. I feel more confident, this summer has helped me to gain confidence, and left me wanting to do things in the right way. We want to start the season at our best and accomplish great things together. I want to learn from the best players in the world. I am amongst the youngest players in the squad and I have to improve step by step to become a better player". Ozil, who is starting his fourth season with the team, said the following: "Real Madrid are the best team in the world and I am proud to play here. I worked very hard to get to where I am and that is why I’m here. I still have three years left on my contract and what I have to do now is focus and be in my best form for the season".

The three also spoke about the club’s reinforcements. "We have a good team. Morata and Jese are ready to do good things with the team", said Benzema. The ex-academy player also spoke about the two teammates with whom he shared a dressing room at the recent European Under-21 Championship and who are now part of the Whites’ squad: "Isco and Illarramendi already know that they are at the biggest club in the world. They are great players and great people". Ozil also praised the midfielder from Malaga: "All players are welcome and Isco is very good and a great reinforcement".
